Since the 80s and 90s, we have enjoyed many great comic book movies. The 2000s brought us iconic films like “X-Men” and the “Batman” series. However, after 2012, it seems that much of that excitement faded. Some characters, like Ghost Rider, Punisher, Blade, and the Fantastic Four, drifted into obscurity, leaving many fans feeling let down.
In the years that followed, there were many discussions and debates about the state of comic book movie franchises. Studios struggled to revive or finish certain series, such as “Man of Steel” and “The Amazing Spider-Man 3.” Some projects were put on hold indefinitely. Meanwhile, the animated films from DC and Marvel continued to impress, staying ahead of their time.
Despite the challenges in live-action adaptations, both DC and Marvel have announced plans for future projects over the next decade. However, a shift in focus has occurred for some fans, including me. I find myself increasingly interested in video game adaptations into movies or series. The success of “Sonic the Hedgehog” at the box office proved this, as fans welcomed it after waiting seven years for its release.
Still, my love for comic book stories remains strong. I have hopes for certain movies to come to life. In my vision, these stories take place in a parallel universe, offering new perspectives and exciting narratives for both new and long time fans.
